Do I Need A Credit Card To Sell On eBay?
Terry, I tried listing some items on eBay and was told I needed a Credit card to sell on eBay. I don’t have a credit card, can I sell on eBay without one?
Thanks,
Rita

There are a few ways to sell on eBay without a credit card.
- You can use a debit card. This will work the same as a credit card. Your bank will give you a debit card tied to a checking or savings account if you ask.
- If you don’t have a debit card, you can use a gift card branded by one of the credit card companies. A gift card is just a prepaid debit card. I know you can buy MasterCard and Visa gift cards at check cashing places. I think some grocery stores have them too. If you don’t have a bank account, and cannot get one, this is the option you’d use.
- You can also link a Confirmed PayPal account to your eBay account and use that to pay your selling fees. A confirmed account is one with a bank account tied to it.
Remember, you must accept payments through PayPal from your buyers. So you have to figure out how to get the money from PayPal. Transferring to a bank account is easiest. If you don’t have a bank account, PayPal will send you checks.
PayPal will send you a debit card, but not until at least 60 days have elapsed from the first payment by a buyer, and you might need to have a bank account tied to the PayPal account.
