Note: This program hasn't been working well for some users due to changes made by eBay. The programmer will get me a new version in the future. Until then, I've removed the payment links from this page and replaced them with download links. You are welcome to download and install the program. If it works - it does work for over 70% of users - you will get it for free. If it doesn't work, just delete it.
Terry Jan. 10, 2008 Who Else Wants To Find The Best Deals On eBay?Have you ever wondered why some people seem to get all the good deals on eBay? You know who I'm talking about -- the people who find all the underpriced buy-it-now listings... prowl weird, out-of-the-way places and buy treasures for a song... dig up incredible buys in the wrong category or hidden behind a misspelled name... To make you feel even more left out, these people tend to brag about their finds. Then, to add insult to injury, they brag out how much they resold the item for on eBay. I'll bet you thought these lucky eBay buyers were spending most of their time hunting down these bargains. Not if they're smart. Do you want a chance at the same deals without having to spend hours each day searching eBay? Now you can find these hidden gems before someone with more time and experience can snatch them up.
Introducing Ted - The IWantCollectibles eBay Search Assistant.
Ted, and his older brothers, have been helping me find the great deals and "misplaced auctions" on eBay for years. My friends have been amazed at my rare finds. Now you can put Ted to work for you. But wait, there is more. . . Part of Ted's job is to help you search for items like you would on eBay, but he's so much more powerful. This is one smart bear. Here's a few of the things Ted will do for you:
You can also combine these features to create the best possible searches for you. Ted will remember up to ten searches. And here's the best part: You can use Ted as a handy desktop search tool to quickly and easily find exactly what you're looking for on eBay -- or, since time is money, you can leave Ted to keep searching in the background while you go on and do other things.
Ted is an eBay Compatible Application. He was developed by a member of the eBay Developers Program and passed the Standard Application Certification process to work directly with the eBay Platform, thereby earning the right to wear the eBay Compatible logo. Currently, Ted only searches eBay.com, the American eBay site. He only works for users in the US. In the future, we may add the ability to search eBay UK and other eBay sites. Sign up for my free newsletter, and I'll let you know if this happens. System requirements: Ted runs only on Windows based computers. (This program is not web-based. Because Ted runs on your computer, he is always working just for you.) Note: Ted does not come with instructions for searching eBay. My free eBay Buyer's Guide explains all the different ways you can search eBay. The eBay Buyer's Guide will help you create the most effective searches. The video shows how to set up searches in Ted.
Installation InstructionsThis page contains a link to download Ted and installation instructions. You may want to print this page so you can refer to it during the set up. Ted is packaged in an executable file. Just download him to your computer, and then run the file to install him. On a dial up connection, it will take about five minutes to download Ted. Once you have downloaded Ted to your computer, either double click on the file, or use your download manager to launch it. Ted will create a folder called IWantCollectibles in your programs folder. Unless you change the settings the path is C:\Program Files\IWantCollectibles After you've installed Ted, you can launch him from Start > Program Files > IWantCollectibles > Ted.exe. Once you've launched Ted for the first time, click on Help for detailed instructions on using Ted.
PS. You'll need to turn Ted on every morning if you want him to work in the background. If you want Ted to start automatically when you turn your computer on, see these instructions on MicroSoft.com Windows XP. Don't make changes to your system registry unless you know what you are doing.
PPS. For detailed instructions on creating eBay searches read the Free eBay Buyer's Guide.
