Should You Specialize In One Type Of eBay Product?
I receive your newsletter and it is very helpful, and I have a question! I have been selling on eBay for about 3 months now. I have sold stuff I bought from garage sales. My question is do I specialize in one thing? If so what if you don’t know what to specialize in?
I have sold a few old books that brought in a good profit. But when you deal in antiques and collectibles there is too much to know about it all and that is a lot. Or is it profitable to sell NEW from wholesalers? I sure need some guidance.
Can you help?
Thank you in advance.
Have a great day,
Linda Straiko
Linda,
I recommend specializing because the focus allows you to build a deeper knowledge base. This knowledge base not only helps you select the most profitable items, but it lowers your eBay listing chores. When you know about something, it is easier to list.
Pick something you enjoy and move forward. Don’t walk past items outside your specialty, when you come across them either.
Specializing also allows you to run more effective ads. You can run cheap classified ads saying “I pay cash for old books.”
Selling new items from wholesalers can be profitable. You want to look for items you can add value to. Not popular items, but items you can make money on.
Check out Identifying eBay Products People Want for more information about selecting new products.
If you want to learn about antiques and collectibles sell items on eBay Consignment. Consignments sales allow you to learn while you earn.
