How Do We Find Out The Best Words To Use In Our eBay Titles?
You’ve said before that most people only search eBay titles making it important to have the best words in your title. Do you have suggestions on good ways to learn what search words people are using?

First of all, you should always use the manufacturer’s name and model number in your title. Those will always be the most important words.
After that, you’ll want to select words based on your previous results. For example Lionel made plastic and die cast trains. Die cast always brings more money. People don’t search for die cast, but telling them the item is die cast gets their attention. I learned this by testing the wording in different auctions.
Sellathon allows you to track what words people are using to find your auctions. It’s a simple to use program that costs about $15 a month. Install the Sellathon code in your auctions and then test different title to see what words bring in the most visitors.
You can get an idea of the words to test by using the Yahoo Keyword Selector Tool. As part of their pay per click advertising yahoo will tell you the number of times a word has been searched for in the previous month, and related words. This is a free tool. It’s not the best tool out there because it doesn’t show plurals and seems to show lots of bogus terms, but will give you an idea of what words you should test.
